About Me
So your child sees a loving face in mathematics
Hello my name is Perry Lai.
I am here because I am passionate about helping your child regain their belief and self esteem in Math.
I've since learnt that students are simply tired and fearful of impatient teachers.
After spending years tutoring (I’ve been doing this since 2005), I've discovered the missing key to unlocking math potential.
My no. 1 goal, is to help your child feel successful when doing math. And actually enjoy it! (I know it sounds unbelievable, but this REALLY happens)
I believe that we are all made in the image of God and worthy of love and patience (1 Cor 13:4)
I know that you most want your child to
be self motivated to study without any nagging
have more focus when doing practice
not give up sub consciously when encountering a long word problem
eliminate those blood sucking careless mistakes
manage their time efficiently in tests
play less, study more
overcome exam fright
and have an actual PSLE game plan, not just do and do more practice papers
This way your child becomes an independent learner who believes in her strengths and unique abilities.
There was a time where I was one of those ineffective tutors who just blames the child for not improving. I wished I could go back in time
Then I discovered methods from books on teaching pedagogy, expertise and human potential like, Teach Like a Champion, The Talent Code, Mathematical Mindsets and many more...
And with these new skills and knowledge, I've been able to help students to regain confidence in themselves and become self motivated.
It hasn't always been easy though. I struggle to help kids who can't find the time to come regularly. And students who are simply unwilling to cooperate with me no matter how hard I try.
Which is why I have to keep class size very small so that every child gets the maximum coaching from me.
And now I want to help your child get the same results as those you read in my testimonials.
